Driveway is covered with new, hard, crunchy snow. The street it connects to is also covered. As are all the streets it connects to. Our house is on a short but steep hill. I've had my car slide down this hill, on a sheet of hard snow, into a neighbor's yard once before - do I dare try for a second time ?
Is work worth the risk?
Don’t risk it, man.
luckily, it warmed up and started raining. all that icy snow turned to slush.
so… work it is.
Even though it doesn’t often snow here, it does snow in the surrounding mountains, and if you wish to leave the Emerald City, you’ll have to cross them. Which is why I, and most people I know, have tire chains. Which are handy on the in town hills when it does snow.
Sadly, not enough people have them or understand the first thing about driving here.
holy crap!
what a mess.
Last night here it was 6C and pouring rain when I went to bed at midnight. Woke up to -4C and clear. Made for quite the icy drive to work.
Heavy snow predicted in my neck of the woods over the next few days and I can’t wait.
