I do remember one thing.
It took hours and hours.
By the the time I was done with it

I carried it around with me for days and days..
Playing little games
Like not looking at it for a whole day
And then, looking at it
To see if I still liked it
I did
[ This is the knot from the original Discipline cover. Robert Fripp thought the knot was in the public domain, but it wasn't. So newer editions of Discipline have a different, inferior, knot ]
somebody has a copyright on a knot?
guess so?
Fripp said he saw it somewhere and thought it was a traditional design so there would be no issue. but it turned out to be a new creation.
in both, broken radial symmetry really interesting
it took me a long time to notice that.
I’ve been a King Crimson fan since the 70’s. One of my favorite albums was Lizard which contains lyrics which I’ve always found to be pretty inscrutable. The song Lizard contains a reference to “Prince Rupert’s tears of glass”. A few days ago I found a reference to “Prince Rupert’s drops” on YouTube and watched it. Fascinating. On the chance you have not previously encountered it here’s the link:
“ Prince Rupert’s Drops are small glass structures resembling tadpoles that can withstand the blows of a hammer and yet burst into powdery dust if their threadlike tails break. They have been a source of fascination and mystery since they were discovered in the 17th century.”

heh. i’d never noticed that line before.
Sinfield was quite the learned man.
and Prince Rupert’s Drops are awesome.
Absolutely fascinating!

KC has been teasing that movie on YouTube for a few months. i can’t wait :)
with my luck it’s only going to appear on some ridiculous streaming channel that i refuse to subscribe to. ex., the XTC doc that Amazon lists but doesn’t actually have.
