There is something between a non-trivial and a substantial amount of circumstantial evidence for a financial relationship between Trump and Putin or a non-tacit alliance between the two men. Even if you draw no adverse conclusions, Trump's financial empire is heavily leveraged and has a deep reliance on capital infusions from oligarchs and other sources of wealth aligned with Putin. That's simply not something that can be waved off or ignored.

Yeah, well, Josh Marshall’s job is to discredit Mr. Trump at all costs. He is a soldier for the far left and I understand that and so should you when you read his article.
Mr. Marshall has no evidence. He has Trump turning to whoever will give him access to needed capital.
So what?
If Mr. Marshall were the impartial arbiter of truth without bias that he pretends to be, he should follow up with a story about how the Clintons have found a way around allowing foreign governments to buy influence through charitable foundations and speaking fees. There is certainly more meat on that story than the one about Mr. Trump.
