A Bad Robot talks Lost

Here is a pretty good wrap-up of the whole Lost arc. Apparently it was written by a writer from the show.

Spoilers below!

My favorite bit:

But, from a more "behind the scenes" note: the reason Ben's not in the church, and the reason no one is in the church but for Season 1 people is because they wrote the ending to the show after writing the pilot. And never changed it. The writers always said (and many didn't believe them) that they knew their ending from the very first episode.

So I guess that, if you were going to Netflix “Lost” you wouldn’t need to watch everything?

I started in on Season 1: nice production values and cinematography, but the idea of watching hours and hours of it was just too daunting. Mailed it back today. Next up, “Ocean’s 11.”

That was an awesome write up by that guy. I keep reading the threads on the Onion AV club and the huge argument between the lovers/haters of how it ended and I don’t get it. I loved the mystery and the sci-fi elements, but I thought the ending was great.

If they knew the ending from the pilot, then shame on me for getting so into the show in the early going.
