After years of struggling with WiFi, I have discovered the miracle of Powerline Networking. Instead of screwing around with unreliable wireless signals and long times to connect (which leads to heartache), a powerline network is always on. I can't believe I waited this long to try it.
The only problem... it's sllllooowwww. Like, slower than the slowest WiFi connection I ever got. But, I'm buying some new gear which promises to be much faster.

But why so slow?
i’m getting a tiny tiny fraction of the advertised speed. it claims 85Mbps. according to this, i’m getting between 6 and 7 Mbps (download). that’s pretty much in line with what other people report on the net.
i get the same results from a 26Mbps WiFi connection.
my wired connection is a couple of orders of magnitude higher.
i guess power lines are noisy… ?
