A kid gave up his iPod for an old-school Sony Walkman, for a week. Some of his observations:
It took me three days to figure out that there was another side to the tape. That was not the only naive mistake that I made; I mistook the metal/normal switch on the Walkman for a genre-specific equaliser, but later I discovered that it was in fact used to switch between two different types of cassette.
Brilliant observation: 20 years from now, iPods will seem as silly and cumbersome as Walkmen (Walkmans ?) do today.

“Genre-specific equaliser” is very nice.
Man, those metal tapes were horrendously expensive. Remember ‘chrome’ tapes? Metal quality at Ferric prices? :)
