I had a dream. Crazy dream.

Since we don’t have health care rationing here in the US, I must have dreamed that MedCo called me up today and told me they couldn’t fill the prescription my doctor wrote because my insurance doesn’t cover the drug my doctor thought I should have.

    Yikes.

We had a similar scandal over here with the breast cancer drug Herceptin, but cases like this are very rare – if your GP prescribes it, you get it.

it’s only allergy meds, for me. not a huge deal. and i could shell-out the $150/mo for this particular drug, if i wanted to. instead, i’ll probably just double-up on the stuff that’s losing its effect.

but this zombie idea that the US health care system is free from “rationing” is utter nonsense.

They’re bitching about $150 a month! Jesus. Herceptin costs something like £10K/$16K for a course, so it doesn’t even compare.

The whole US right-wing hatred of a decent healthcare system just boggles my mind. Our system isn’t perfect, but it’s never let me or my family down.
