I'm in the process of recording my track for Song Number One. It's quite nerve wracking - I know exactly what I want to do, but it's tough trying to get a perfectly clean and flawless track.
Fun, though :)
Update: OK, done. A track is ready for your overdubbing pleasure. I went with a nice simple bass thing, for this, my, your, our, first time at it.

Did you upload a track and then think better of it? Last time I went to Kompoz there was a bass track there, I downloaded it but just now I went back to look at the chords and it was gone. Levels are pretty low, could you record it a bit louder? I like the sound of it, what I can hear.
i uploaded one and it was corrupt. i just finished another upload. should be OK.
there’s a strange hi-pitched whine over it, which came from my PC as i recorded it off my 8-track. tomorrow i buy a new sound card!
i could boost the levels, but that would just boost the whine :(
hmmm… tested the MP3 on a different PC.. no whine.
now i definitely need a new sound card!
I am only seeing the bass track. Are you going to post the chords?
I still need the correct cables, so I might try and find one today. My new amp is coming Monday, which will be worth waiting for if I want to try an electric guitar track.
Rob, if you click on the “bass”, you will see a page with chords on it.
OK, I see them.
The chords are great but I’m struggling to follow the bass line. I think I need a basic guitar track to follow.
hmmm… ok. i hesitate a bit to do this because i don’t want you all to play it exactly like i did. but just to give you a taste, here’s one verse section.
basically each section is this:
a simple one bar walk-up to the C
two bars of C
two bars of B7
three of Em, and then walk back to the C
it’s all done as arpeggios, with some accent stuff on the high strings, and with a bit of a waltzy swing.
