Last week's BSG...

Why waste the next-to-last episode on a bunch of wigs-n-makeup flashbacks? You've had five years to give us all that backstory. If what they showed last week wasn't important enough to anything that happened in the last five years that we didn't know it already, it really shouldn't be important to anything that will happen on the final show either. It's long past the time for deep character development.
Though, apparently, this last one (the Mar 13 ep) was actually just part one of the actual 3-hour finale. The next episode is really just the final 2/3s of the finale.
Whatever you call it, I hope the final two hours have more fireworks than the last one.
I found the flashbacks quite interesting and wager that all those who experienced them will die a horrible death in the next episode. :)

I’m on the internets episode schedule so can finally comment on this now. I liked the flashbacks, but agree with cleek that they see like unnecessary wastes of what little time they have left. There seems to be a lot of things to cover in the last 2 hours. Helo/Athena seem destined to end (has ended?) badly. Ack! 6 more days (curse you my newborn son!).

Thanks. Now, if he would decide that a non-specific, 3 hour period between 1am and 6am is not the best time to be wide awake, I might get back to the important things in life, like a proper BSG watching schedule (oh wait, it’s over).
