just read your account of crackin ice. dad tried to get me to apply there when i was of age, but something about you getting married and deciding not working there anymore kept it off the beaten path. well, i had a huge laugh and cant help but think it further defines our home turf as the world´s capital of terrible summer jobs. 3 summers? good lord…

i washed dishes at the montcalm for a week and still dream about it.

IMO, the ice factory beats mowing lawns any day. one summer i did both: 50 hours at the ice factory, plus mowing the lawn at the WalMart in HF. i much preferred the cool, clammy dark of the factory to the dusty sweaty smoky back of the lawnmower.

    how’s America South ?

    … ooh . washing dishes.

i did that at the Ground Round for month or so. worst job i ever had, easily. the horrible greasy steam, the asshole cooks giving me freshly-baked plates to wash and the endless stream of dishes covered with congealed grease and slime… ugh.

    horrible.

congealed grease and slimeSounds like money in the bank. I’ve been a motorcycle mechanic for thirty years and that stuff is all that’s holdin’ some of them old Hawgs together!
