As a squishy lefty pacifist, I know I shouldn't smile at this. So I will stop. But, I gotta say this smells like karma:
At least 40 al-Qaeda fanatics died horribly after being struck down with the disease that devastated Europe in the Middle Ages.
The killer bug, also known as the plague, swept through insurgents training at a forest camp in Algeria, North Africa. It came to light when security forces found a body by a roadside.
...
Now al-Qaeda chiefs fear the plague has been passed to other terror cells — or Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. One security source said: "This is the deadliest weapon yet in the war against terror. Most of the terrorists do not have the basic medical supplies needed to treat the disease. It spreads quickly and kills within hours. This will be really worrying al-Qaeda."

It’s like War of the Worlds.
I got no love lost for the Al Qaeda guys. Whatever legitimate gripe they may have had was, to my mind, forever overshadowed by the sight of all those folks faced with the choice of jumping off the towers or burning to death on a jet fuel pyre.
Plague’s a horrible way to go, and I ain’t wishing it on anyone, but I’m also not really extending any sympathy their way.
That said, the bad thing here is that plague bacillus isn’t really going to discriminate between AQ members and anyone else they come in contact with. As always, they’ll be taking other folks with them when they go.
true. and i hope we’re flooding the area with leaflets telling people about the plague-ridden al-Q vermin and what they can do to avoid contracting god’s punishment *. if people shun and avoid al-Q members because of this, all the better.

I didn’t read the article, but is there any thought that this may have been a bio-weapon deployed by a “Third-Party.” I don’t think the Plague springs up here and there so much…
