I know 5-year olds with a better grasp of how analogies work. The remarkable thing about it is that you have to repair its logical holes as you read it, so by the end you’re exhausted. It may not even be offensive; it’s so illogical that you can’t actually connect his argument to even a vague approximation of reality. Instead of sharing his point of view with you, he hands you a shovel and together you dig a hole.
