Thus concludes my Year By Year list: my favorite record from each year since my birth. I hope it was tolerable.
Most of these were easy. A few years had too many great records to choose from (1980!). But the hardest were the several years, recent years especially, for which I’d only even heard a handful of records; choosing a ‘favorite’ for those years was picking the best out of two or three records that might not rank at all, in a top 100.
But, it was fun for me. That’s what really matters.

I’m particularly interested in going back and listening to the last 15 years. There is more music being made than I can keep track of.
