I think trump scared a bunch of white people who don’t regularly vote into voting with all his rigged election talk. That and some fairly significant voter suppression were enough.

They will be picking over this shit for years. But something fundamental has changed in the West and we’re all going to be feeling the effects. Maybe it’s a globalisation backlash, maybe working-class people feel they have nothing to lose, or maybe people are just morons. But I haven’t felt this uncertain about the future since the height of the Cold War in the mid-80s.
