Unusual home invasion in Ohio:
A 38-year-old Cole Avenue man reported that his home was invaded on Sept. 9. The man said he was sitting home alone masturbating and watching a pornographic movie when a man came down into the basement, holding a gun, and started to videotape him. The man said that before he left, the intruder fed his dog some mushrooms and the dog died.
I wonder how many mushrooms the man ate...
OT – I lost (or more likely someone stole out of my office) an external flash drive which had some pictures from my last vacation on it. I had been reviewing them on my work laptop yesterday (which hasn’t been turned off) and thought that there might be some way to recover them from a temporary cache file on the hard drive (like temporary internet files). Any thoughts or am I likely SOL?
Windows keeps a “thumb.db” thumbnail cache file in the same folder as the pictures themselves – which doesn’t help you, obviously.
i don’t know about any other standard cache file. but if you were using an application (as opposed to just browsing the files in “thumbnail view”) to view them, it’s possible the application may have a cache of its own somewhere – but finding such a cache and reading it would vary from app to app. if you were using IE, you should definitely check your temp internet files folder.
