Happy Birthday! For MY upcoming birthday I’ve been trying to find some genuine imported Japanese beer. Alas, everything that I’ve seen so far (Sapporo, Kirin, etc.) is either made in Wisconsin or Canada.
Of course the “Japanese beer” made in Canada has been labeled “Imported.” Yes, it IS imported. . . just not from Japan.

i see this stuff at our local Whole Foods. haven’t tried it yet.
just for the record, the Hitachino Nest “Red Rice” ale is really good.
OK, so I went to the WF in San Rafael. Nothing.
Then, across the street in the small Asian market, I found a large bottle from here.
Refrigerated! And, from Okinawa!
