Marijuana may increase psychosis risk
- Using marijuana seems to increase the chance of becoming psychotic, researchers report in an analysis of past research that reignites the issue of whether pot is dangerous.
Some experts say governments should now work to dispel a misconception that marijuana is a benign drug.
The new review suggests that even infrequent use could raise the small but real risk of this serious mental illness by 40 percent.
No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women, no fun, no sin, no you. No wonder it's dark.

Just gonna have to take m’chances on this one. I really have no use for this world without my therapy.
right. [i should prolly run the numbers before i say this, but…] i bet the odds of me getting killed by a drunk driver or a fall down the stairs are higher than those of me becoming psychotic, with or without occasional chemical assistance.
I have a friend who was a pot-smoking alcoholic and at some point in his 50s they told him at the hospital that if he didn’t quit drinking, he’d die, which he proceeded to do cold turkey with the help of a couple days’ worth of Valium. When they then told him he had to also stop smoking marijuana, his response was “Show me the fucking literature,” and ten years later he’s an outrageously healthy, non-psychotic, tennis playing, occasional stoner. Take the anecdotal evidence as you will.
