Please, Stop Trying To Kill My Cat

We thought we were safe, but the pet food problems have appeared in the brand that Tricksey eats - and I just ordered three cases last week! (not of the types they're recalling right now... but two days ago they weren't recalling any of them... so who knows)

Reportedly, rice gluten protein concentrate from a US company is the problem this time, not wheat gluten from China; so I can't blame the Chinese. Oh well.

Maybe Mrs. Cleek was right when she joked that we'd have to feed Tricksey only tortilla chips and deli ham (both of which she loves).

Yes. And please add mice and spiders and water bugs and goldfish, bats, and squirrels. And yogurt and house plants. Also, give her those Aquari-Yum treats that come in a glass jar and sit next to the medicine bowl on the dresser that presides over my food dish.

spiders, bugs: check. got lots of those. except the earwigs bite. she hateses the earwigs.

    bats?! yipes.

    how about catnip-filled mice?

our Aquari-Yums live in the medicine cabinet in the guest bathroom with the cat claw clippers and the Frontline. they’re bribes.

Cat claw clippers? I would be torn to shreds if I ever attempted to cut the claws on either of our cats. Out of interest, is the Trickster a house cat or does she go outside? The only time I’ve ever attempted any claw cutting was when our youngest, Boo, was a kitten. Since he started to venture out they’ve always stayed short.

Also, can you yanks get Frontline over the counter? Our vets only allow us to have 6 months worth before we have to take the cats in for a check-up, and one of our cats really doesn’t travel well – hence we end up using flea drops we buy in the supermarket which aren’t as effective.

And this time of year Boo tends to bring us back live baby rabbits. Which is a real treat.

    Cat claw clippers?

yeah. Tricksey doesn’t like it, but if i hold her, my wife can usually get two feet done before the squirming gets to be too much.

she doesn’t get to go outside :) we have a screened-in back porch where she can hang out and watch the tasty birds. but she can’t leave.

we can buy it at the vet without bringing the cat. but they only give us 6 months’ worth at a time. she hates that too.
