You Call That Humiliation?

I share the outrage expressed in the British press over the treatment of our naval personnel accused by Iran of illegally entering their waters. It is a disgrace. We would never dream of treating captives like this - allowing them to smoke cigarettes, for example, even though it has been proven that smoking kills. And as for compelling poor servicewoman Faye Turney to wear a black headscarf, and then allowing the picture to be posted around the world - have the Iranians no concept of civilised behaviour? For God's sake, what's wrong with putting a bag over her head? That's what we do with the Muslims we capture: we put bags over their heads, so it's hard to breathe. Then it's perfectly acceptable to take photographs of them and circulate them to the press because the captives can't be recognised and humiliated in the way these unfortunate British service people are.

b.t.w., Firefox thinks he misspelled 'civilized', 'behavior', and 'recognized'.

Good to see them back home, and even better to see NeoCons fuming because nobody got bombed back to the stone age.

    Unbelievable

it should be… but, well… it’s just another day at the wingnut slime machine.

And people wonder why there is growing anti-American sentiment in the UK?

    not me. i don’t wonder a bit.

Fingers crossed that the Republicans will be booted out of office in 18 months time. One can hope.

So, Obama or Clinton? When do the Dems choose?

    So, Obama or Clinton?

of the two i’d prefer Obama – Edwards over Clinton, too. but North Carolina has basically no say in who gets the nod because of the primary schedule. our primary is in May, but it’s really over months before that.

    When do the Dems choose?

by the middle of next March, both parties will know who they’re sending to the big game.
