Ooops

Wife's out, so I'm experimenting in the kitchen. Today's attempt: Thai spicy basil fish. Pretty easy: pan fry a fish, throw in some red bell pepper, carrot, onion, a dash of chili garlic paste, chopped fresh basil at the end, and put it all next to some jasmine rice.

First bite: "holy shit"

That was about 5x too much chili paste. Ow. Super ow. What I can taste is awesome, but ... ow.

    Dude, if it has the words “Thai” and “spicy” in it’s description, it’s nuclear. Got something I call “spicy Thai oil” (Chilli Peppers in Soy Bean Oil is on the jar); just the amount from dipping about 1/8 inch of a spoon into the oil (leaving the pepper flakes in the jar) will significantly impact a two serving quantity of anything. I’m surprised the stuff hasn’t etched the glass jar (and yep!, when it runs out, I’m re-stocking).
