Seriously, were they beating on this site or on another site on the same machine? And if they were beating on this site, were they looking for wp sploits? Mass spam post to old threads?
As someone who as gone through all of those (not the Apple one, the others), good luck. Competent hosting should keep you safe.

beats me. the incoming server logs don’t look unusual and there’s no more spam than usual in moderation.
