If you have a convertible, it might not be a good idea to try operating the top while you have a bike rack attached to the trunk. Loud sounds and crumpled steel, followed by three days (minimum) at the body shop, may result.
This is not related to my amazing discovery Monday about poblano peppers: no, they are not the hottest chilies in the world (not even close, really), but you should still wash your hands after cutting them because you never know when you will accidentally touch your eye while lounging on the couch.

A guy I know did something comparable, when he drove his car into the garage with the bike still mounted on top. He referred to his repair bills (of the car, the bike, and the garage) as an “idiot tax.”
