For a long time now, I've been thinking that a lot of new bands sound like Coldplay: Middle Distance Runner, Frightened Rabbit, Kings Of Leon, We Were Promised Jetpacks, etc.. I was wrong. As it turns out, 50% of all new bands sound like Arcade Fire.
That's what I get for waiting so long to actually listen to Arcade Fire.

ha ha. Have you listened to all three Arcade Fire albums? I think the first one (Funeral) has some Talking Heads influences and is by far their best work to date.

Funeral is their best. The other ones are fine as well though. Coldplay is one of my guilty pleasures. Plus they were pretty damn good in concert.
for some reason i thought Arcade Fire sounded like Magnetic Fields, who i really don’t like. so i put off listening.

You could review all three Arcade Fire albums – I think that would be entertaining, especially as they are for all intents and purposes a new band to you. :)
Magnetic Fields would be fine if they got a totally different singer. Their songs are great when covered by other people. As it is I can’t stand them. Perhaps it will grow on me one day, like Modest Mouse did.
