The Ugly

It's growing.

Wingnuts in NC are slashing tires of Obama supporters, and killing bears.

And this is why I was a little worried (though less so than my wife) about putting an Obama sign in our yard last night. But I did it anyway. And then I voted today.

Where I Was Last Week

On beautiful Emerald Isle, as usual.

Nothing but beer, brilliant sunsets, karaoke (but not for me!), and swimmin with the horseshoe crabs.

Oh, and there was a steady stream of yellow and orange & black butterflies, flapping their way up the beach (eastward). It must be butterfly migration season.

And it looks like last week was the last bit of summer weather around here. It's supposed to be in the mid 30's tonight. So, yay for us.

Signs, Signs, Everywhere There's Signs

An informal survey of the state of roadside political signs from Raleigh to the NC coast shows McCain/Palin with a roughly 50:1 advantage over Obama. We were 100 miles outside of Raleigh before we saw another Obama sign.

Strangest thing was the "Sarah!" sticker we saw on the rear window of a Mini Cooper.
