The Idiot Party

U.S. lawmakers on Thursday expressed doubts about Sept. 11 legislation they forced on President Barack Obama, saying the new law allowing lawsuits against Saudi Arabia could be narrowed to ease concerns about its effect on Americans abroad.

A day after a rare overwhelming rejection of a presidential veto, the first during Obama's eight years in the White House, the Republican leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives opened the door to fixing the law as they blamed Obama, a Democrat, for not consulting them adequately.

"I do think is worth further discussing," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters, acknowledging that there could be "potential consequences" of the "Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act," known as JASTA.

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Congress might have to "fix" the legislation to protect U.S. troops in particular.

Perhaps you shouldn't have passed the fucking thing without fixing it first.

I’m assuming that, at least, they read the bill which is more than I can say for those who voted for ObamaCare.

    We’re making progress…

Wasn’t singling out Pelosi in particular. And this is entirely new BS so pay attention, please.

Congress ultimately passed a Senate bill that nobody wanted, and, indeed, that likely no one had read in its entirety when the Senate passed it, and that certainly no one fully understood. Senator Max Baucus, one of Obamacare’s chief architects, not only acknowledged not reading the bill, but opined that it would have been a “waste of time” to do so, because only experts could understand it….

      them goalposts are a-runnin.

explain what this has to do with McConnell and Ryan overriding a veto with a bill they don’t like then blaming Obama for the bill they forced into law.

Of course it is stupid of them to complain.
They should have done their due diligence. It’s their responsibility just as it was the Democrats who passed Obamacare.

You vote for it…you own it.

That being said, most in Congress do not think this was a mistake. All Democrat senators voted to override the veto except one. It’s a very popular bill / law.

I’m happy to own Obamacare, even with the kinks. Fifteen to 20 million Americans insured, if you include those added to the Medicaid rolls.

Whatta you got? Nothing. One word .. “nothing” … can you read that? There, you are done reading what legislation you have to offer. Now, you are well-read, compared to Congress.

I love this bit: “because only experts could understand it…”

That pretty well sums up America at the moment. If the experts like it, then by all means let’s fuck it up. Quintessential Trump and his dumbasses.

I agree though that this latest fiasco is obviously bipartisan. I hope, I really do, that American diplomats and armed services personnel around the world are taken into custody for whatever fucking reason because of this dumb law, and then you can yell “Benghazi!” and blame Clinton and Obama.

The larger picture is of course that cutting Saudi Arabia loose on behalf of 9/11 survivors would be justice, but there will be none of that because America is full of shit.
