Woo hoo!

Hi Chris. Nice selection!
BTW, IIRC, you’re a Stereolab fan right? Well, a friend of mine has been smitten with them for a long time and he did me a “sampler” at the weekend, which I am ripping as we speak. Here’s the track listing – comments welcome! :)
French Disko (sp?)
Super Electric
Changer
Difficult Fourth Title
Metronomic Underground
Les Yper-Sound (sp?)
The Noise of Carpet
Our Trinistone (sp?) Blast
Golden Ball
Jenny Ondioline (sp?)
Crest
Margerine Rock
yeah, i do love me some Stereolab. sadly, they usually (like Pavement, Sufjan Stevens and a few others) give their songs meaningless names. so, even though i recognize a lot of those titles, i think i only recall the song based on the the title for one of those, Metronomic Underground. in that case “Metronomic” is an accurate title.. :)
as for albums, i like Peng!, Emperor Tomato Ketchup and Mars Audiac Quintet the best.
Another reason for my sampler was that I checked out their discography on Amazon and was amazed to find dozens of titles. Also, they seem to have a hard-core fanbase, which basically means most customer reviews are 5 stars! This makes choosing “my first Stereolab album” was next to impossible.
I’m impressed so far though. They really get into a groove man! The song “Jenny Ondioline” is over 18 minutes long, and quite hypnotic.
http://www.allmusic.com as some good reviews of their stuff. they let you listen, too!
casino boogie! silver rocket! johnny thunder!
man, i guess the work of the “cowboy junkies fairy” is complete.
