whipped up a monkey program to pull a random ten from itunes, look up videos, and spew html. Let’s see if it worked:
1. Big Star – For You
2. The Beatles – One After 909
3. Yo La Tengo – The Love Life of the Octopus
4. Violent Femmes – Ugly
5. Sonic Youth – bull in the heather
6. Death Cab For Cutie – You Can Do Better Than Me
7. Liz Phair – What Makes You Happy
8. Olivia Ruiz – Eight O’Clock / Six mètres
9. Lou Reed – I Wanna Be Black
10. Goo Goo Dolls – Long Way Down
i’ve been thinking about such a program for a long time… “monkey” ?
I’ve always used “monkey” as a little helper program. Usually a quick one off that isn’t intended to live on. I know I picked up the usage from somebody else, but I don’t remember who or where, but I have heard other people use it too.
Have a monkey. I was playing with the new freebie csharp, so it requires .net4, even though it would probably run under older versions. Lousy UI, no user testing done, no business plan developed to exploit it.

ah.. “monkey”. yeah, that’s a good name for that type of program.
Specially good when you consider that such a program would likely be written by an engineer.
