in this one, the drums are from EZ Drummer, which gives you a bunch of patterns that you can tweak in countless ways. i used it to give me some backing drums to lay down the guitar and bass while i was figuring out the structure. and ended up liking the scratch drums enough that i just kept them.
on all the other tunes i’ve done, i program the drums literally one hit at a time with MIDI (sometimes using EZ Drummer’s samples). i prefer doing it the hard way because it feels to me like i’m cheating otherwise. but, this worked out.
I like that one.
I always have to ask: I know you are playing the guitar parts, cleek, but is the drum track you playing or midi/sampled?
Also, I hope you copyright this stuff, and if you do, how does that work?
glad you like it :)
yep. i’m playing the guitars and bass.

i’ve done it this way on one other tune before (Mixed Episodes – https://youtu.be/AVZXkmcXoIg).

i’ve never officially registered copyright for any of these songs. not sure i can justify the cost. :)
