The new carpet smell is actually quite lush. :)
The house is brand new too and the developer has some left to complete, so we are living on a building site, which is … interesting.
blech. i know that situation well…
our house was one of the first in the neighborhood. for the first two years, we would wake to the sound of hammers, nail guns and blaring Mexican radio as they built the houses that now surround us. they’d start at 6AM every day and would work until 9PM, in the summer. they worked on Christmas day. the neighborhood is still growing, but the construction has moved far enough away that we can’t hear it any more.
Whoa. Luckily this is a small development and, fingers crossed, they should be done by the end of April. It’s actually good having all these tradesmen around, as if we get any problems (usual new house stuff) we just shout out the window and the site manager sends someone over. :)
