Back in the saddle again!
Let's do five, briefly described, for the edification of all.
- Duran Duran - Planet Earth. New Romantic synthpop disco!
- Miles Davis - Billy Boy. In which the pianist mightily asserts the theme.
- Beatles - I'm Only Sleeping. I love this one. The backwards guitar (?) solo is cute.
- Belle & Sebastian - Boy With The Arab Strap. Maybe my favorite B&S song. Maybe. Fav on this album, for sure.
- Paul Simon - Thelma. I like the main riff. The bridge/chorus parts seem to sag a little.
Glorious and gloriousser.
Participation is optional!

1. Specimen – Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Early 80’s glam/goth. It’s like Rocky Horror meets Sisters of Mercy.
2. The Cure – Hot Hot Hot The Cure at their most dancy and poppy. Like the bass riff though.
3. Foo Fighters – February Stars (live acoustic) Decent slow one from arguably still their best album.
4. Ministry – The Great Satan Over the top speed metal. Cool when he first did this 20 years ago. Boring now.
5. Icicle Works – Whisper to a Scream (Birds Fly) Words cannot even describe the awesomeness of this pop song. This is one of my favorite pop singles of all time.
I had a chance to assist the drum tech for Morrissey who is playing the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo. I can’t get there at that time. That woulda been cool.
Ministry… there’s a band i hadn’t thought about in a long time.
That woulda been cool
indeed. but i think i’d be afraid to get anywhere near Morrissey, lest i anger him somehow and cause him to refuse to play. he has a reputation as a bit of a hothead…
