This guy, on the other hand, was only like 3mm long. Tiny. Tiny. Tiny.
He/she was on my front porch, and that was fine. Because, tiny metallic green/white/black/yellow spiders are OK.
And this guy/gal was sharing the web. Life partner, I assume. This is NC, we don't ask.

Also saw a pileated woodpecker, but didn't get pix. These guys are really cool looking, and are the size of a crow. But s/he wouldn't leave the forest, unlike the many red-bellied woodpeckers that hang out at our feeders, so it might take some luck to get a good pic.
In addition, a pair of bluebirds have made a nest in the vestigial newspaper box under our mailbox. Every time we get near the mailbox, a bluebird shoots out and flies for safety. One actually hit me in the heel, when I went ran past the mailbox last week.
