The Standells “Dirty Water” always makes me think of Nuggets, where I first heard it; and that makes me want to mention that it was a treat to hear Lenny Kaye (who produced the original Nuggets) sitting in with the Venus 3 on Friday. He played “Waiting for the Man” with them (which I think he is on the original VU studio recording of it), and with the opening band (Peter Buck+Scott McCaughey + Bill Riflin) he played “Pushing Too Hard”, another Nuggets track.
I’m gonna go listen to some random tunes and post a shuffle in a bit.
Me and John covered Waiting for the Man the day after we saw the show… Also She Said She Said which was the third encore, and which we are hilariously bad at.
Harlem/Cold Baloney
Sandra’s Having Her Brane Out
Dream Get Together
Evil Guy
She’s Not Afraid (ack! How did One Direction get on my library? Sylvia, come here…)
Rob Caldecott
It’s been a while.
Tapes ‘n Tapes – Insistor
Radiohead – 2 + 2 = 5
David Bowie – DJ
Deerhunter – Earthquake
Radiohead – 2 + 2 = 5
May already? Blimey.

WTF happened there? Talking Heads were there a minute ago. Stupid cut and paste.

This is tough, because they’re all pretty good.
John Sebastian – You’re a Big Boy Now
Lila Downs – La Martiniana
Beatles – I Got to Find My Baby
Florence + the Machine – Breaking Down
Beatles – Old Brown Shoe
Yeah, I did put that at the bottom. It’s George’s weakest Beatles song. Yes, worse than “It’s All Too Much.”
