We’re on our third bloody Dyson in 10 years. They used to be made just up the road before they outsourced all their manufacturing to Malaysia. Cheap labour = big(ger) profits I guess. Globalisation rocks.
ours is holding up well. but, even though it’s the “Animal” model, Tricksey and Pepper put out enough hair that the internal chutes and airflow chambers eventually fill up and i have to pull it all out with various devices – my favorite is a hacksaw blade taped to a long wooden kebab skewer. the little mounting posts on the blade are just long enough that i can get it good and tangled in a clump of hair, and if i pull just right the hair will come out… sometimes… takes forever.
on a more general note: anyone who thinks withholding his/her vote from Obama will accomplish anything but putting a Republican one vote closer to the White House has absolutely no idea how our country works. nobody gives a flying fuck about your “protest” vote. nobody. not even your mom. either vote for the Dem, or accept that you’re helping to elect a Republican.
