    A picture of the future!

Aw man, I even listened to “Cousin Mary” as a candidate but eliminated it. Didn’t hear the lick.

I do love how these quizzes demonstrate that an artist can have a distinctive instrumental (or ensemble) style. You know that’s Coltrane, or Hendrix, even if you can’t identify the track.

Totally agree with Chris on knowing that was Hendrix and Coltrane.

I should probably turn in my alternative/goth card for not even naming Joy Division.

I had Jim Croce pegged for 2 from the start but just could not find the song until today so wasn’t sure it was him. His voice hits a low note there which threw it off.

yeah, with Jimi, i wasn’t expecting anyone to get the song – it’s not one of his hits. but his sound is fairly unmistakable. and that little bit i grabbed is one of my favorite sounds he ever made.

i was hoping to trip someone up with that J Geils song, because the bass player is doing stuff there that sounds, to me, exactly like what Tina Weymouth does all over the place on their live stuff: : two low notes, rest a couple bars, then a quick high slide. alas, no takers.

Does the fact that I know Jim Croce songs and not Katy Perry mean I’m old? Wait, don’t answer that.

(I didn’t know that one but you gave me points. I guess that means I got 22 not 24.)
