Nope, not even during the DNC.

On the day after Hillary Clinton officially became the first woman to receive a major party nomination for US President, our pals over at Talking Points Memo have fifteen stories about Trump and two about Clinton. One of those two Clinton stories is about how Trump "raises the stakes" for "fans and skeptics" of Clinton. The other is a story about how newspapers today are catching flack for not featuring Clinton's historic achievement on the front page - which TPM also does not. Heh. Irony.

None here, either. I assume nobody comes here for news.

Putin Up With Trump

There is something between a non-trivial and a substantial amount of circumstantial evidence for a financial relationship between Trump and Putin or a non-tacit alliance between the two men. Even if you draw no adverse conclusions, Trump's financial empire is heavily leveraged and has a deep reliance on capital infusions from oligarchs and other sources of wealth aligned with Putin. That's simply not something that can be waved off or ignored.

It's Just So Shocking

This woman:

Melania Trump never earned a university degree in architecture ― she dropped out of college after her freshman year, according to her biographers. Still, she claims to have a degree from “university in Slovenia.”

...who is the imported trophy wife of the guy who not only stole words from a black man:

An op-ed penned this month by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and published online appears to be blatantly plagiarized from an article written days earlier under former rival Ben Carson’s name, The Daily Caller has determined.

...but who ran a fradulent "university" using plagiarized textbooks:

Extensive portions of the materials that students received after paying their seminar fees, supposedly containing Mr. Trump’s special wisdom, had been plagiarized from an obscure real estate manual published a decade earlier.

... that woman stole words about the value of hard work from a black woman ?

I am so shocked.

Next you'll tell me that Trump lies about his own name!

Old man yells at cartoon

Vice Presidential Candidate, Mike Pence, Film Critic:

Just spent a memorable Fathers Day, like so many other all American Hoosier dads, with my kids at the new Disney film entitled, “Mulan”. For those who have not yet been victimized by the McDonald’s induced hysteria over this film, Mulan is a fictional account of a delicate girl of the same name who surreptitiously takes her fathers place in the Chinese army in one of their ancient wars against the Huns. Despite her delicate features and voice, Disney expects us to believe that Mulan’s ingenuity and courage were enough to carry her to military success on an equal basis with her cloddish cohorts. Obviously, this is Walt Disney’s attempt to add childhood expectation to the cultural debate over the role of women in the military. I suspect that some mischievous liberal at Disney assumes that Mulan’s story will cause a quiet change in the next generation’s attitude about women in combat and they just might be right. (Just think about how often we think of Bambi every time the subject of deer hunting comes into the mainstream media debate.)

The Wall Street Candidate

In 1995, after years of neglect, 40 Wall Street was bought by Donald Trump and later renamed The Trump Building. He planned to convert the upper half of it to residential space, leaving the bottom half as commercial space. However, the cost of converting it to residential space proved to be too high, and it remains 100% commercial space.[14] He tried to sell the building in 2003, expecting offers in excess of $300 million. They did not materialize. In the ninth episode of the fourth season of The Apprentice, Trump claimed he only paid $1 million for the building, but that it was actually worth $400 million. This episode aired November 17, 2005. Trump's legal advisor, George H. Ross, restated this claim in a 2005 book.[15] On CNBC's The Billionaire Inside, Trump again claimed he paid $1 million for the building, but stated the value as $600 million, a $200 million increase from two years earlier. The episode aired October 17, 2007 on CNBC. However, it has also been reported that Trump paid $10 million for the building.[16] According to 2015 Federal Election Commission filings, Trump has an outstanding mortgage on the property in excess of $50 million.

Pandering

Here's what's on tap for first night of the GOP convention:

A Benghazi focus, followed by border patrol agents and Mr. Shaw, whose son was killed by an undocumented immigrant. Senator Cotton, Mr. Giuliani, Melania Trump, Ms. Ernst and others.

Yay.

Not that I would watch it anyway...
