Compassionate Conservatism
Bloggers are all excited about crazy conservative Bryan Fischer's demand that no more mosques be allowed to be built in the US:
Permits should not be granted to build even one more mosque in the United States of America, let alone the monstrosity planned for Ground Zero. This is for one simple reason: each Islamic mosque is dedicated to the overthrow of the American government. Each one is a potential jihadist recruitment and training center, and determined to implement the ‘Grand Jihad’ of which Andy McCarthy has written.
Surely this can't be a one-time thing. Crazy like this usually leaves a long, slimy, trail behind it.
Ah... here he is back in April 2010:
The most compassionate thing we can do for Muslims who have already immigrated here is to help repatriate them back to Muslim countries, where they can live in a culture which shares their values, a place where they can once again be at home, surrounded by people who cherish their deeply held ideals. Why force them to chafe against the freedom, liberty and civil rights we cherish in the West?
In other words, simple Judeo-Christian compassion dictates a restriction and repatriation policy with regard to Muslim immigration into the U.S.
Now that's some compassion!

The commander of Iraq's military is calling for U.S. forces to stay in the country for another decade, reinforcing his stance that his country's military won't be able to secure the nation on their own after U.S. troops leave.
Do I even get a vote ?
I don't think I do.

Expensive Lot
Went to the beach last weekend.
When we pulled in to the hotel parking lot, I noticed a wide, low, red car parked in one of the spots: a Ferrari. Next to it, another Ferrari. Next to that one, another. Next to that... etc..
At one point there were 15 new-ish Ferraris in this parking lot:
I know a few of those run about $150K each, and I doubt the others were much less. That was probably a $2,500,000 parking lot for a while.
Amusingly, a guy in a huge pickup towing a boat on a trailer actually had the balls to back that trailer into the open parking spot on the left side. But, the boat was too long, so he took it somewhere else.
