Truffled sheep cheese ? Fuck That Shit. ( i hate cheese )
Russell's Reserve Rye!!
If you've never had rye (as I had hadn't), but like bourbon or Scotch (as I do), you need to try this stuff. It's definitely a whiskey, so think bourbon; but then replace a bit of the typical bourbon sweetness with a spicy, grassy, anise/allspice/pepper zing. Delicious!
Also: fresh cherries ! Holy frikkin yum.
Odd that you’d bring up truffled sheep cheese:
We were at the farmer’s market this saturday and my 10 and 8 year old sons were having a great time looking around for free samples. They thought they’d hit the jackpot with some free vanilla bean ice-cream. Turns out, though, it was organically grown truffled goat cheese. I wish I’d had a camera to capture the look on their faces. they may never like goat cheese in their lives.

ack! i actually shuddered when i read that.

i welcome them to the club! :)
personally, i am solidly against any cheese that isn’t one of the canonical pizza or cheeseburger cheeses – no blue/eu or Swiss, either! and it must be melted. i believe this makes me a better person.
Another very very good rye, is (need to check this name, I might have it wrong) Alberta Premium. And Old Overholt is supposed to be good. Fresh cherries suck in my part of the world and it makes me unhappy.
Yep: Alberta Premium is correct.
Alberta Premium, eh…. googling… reading… only available in Canada! damn that lovely country to the north!
i’m not sure where the cherries i get come from (before they get to the supermarket), but they’re been good for the past few weeks. i usually get the Rainier variety, but they’ve been a little hard to find this year. the standard red ones are really good right now, though.

No way dude, cheese is awesome, especially a good bleu.
That’s right, I remember now, I bought Alberta Premium in the duty free shop last time I was in Toronto. We got fresh cherries out of the backyard when I lived in Modesto and they were a beautiful thing.
