Let me take a moment to thank you for allowing directory listings on your song quiz folders. It means I can wget the whole bunch.

  2. Cris

I’ll go with “J/K.” And here’s my early submission, because I love the horse race. I know I can get at least four more points here.

    1. The Killers – Mr. Brightside
Thanks for making me look this one up — I’ve heard the song on the radio, but never investigated the band.

    2. Jim Croce – Operator
    3. Jethro Tull
    5. Joe Walsh – Rocky Mountain Way
At first I thought this was from “Pigs – Three Different Ones.” Guess those Talk Boxes all sound the same…

    6. John Coltrane
    7. John Cougar Mellencamp – Authority Song
    8. John Lennon
    9. John Prine – Angel From Montgomery
    10. Jackson Browne – Stay
    11. Joni Mitchell

    17. Kinks

    20. Johnny Cash – Hurt

  3. platosearwax

I see no pattern…Here is what I get at first look. Will definitely be back…

    1. Killers – Mr. Brightside
    4. Katy Perry – UR So Gay (nailed this immediately because I have daughters)
    5. Joe Walsh – Rocky Mountain Way
    11. Joni Mitchell – Free Man in Paris
    13. Justin Timberlake – Sexy Back (seriously??)
    14. Kate Bush – This Woman’s Work (this is a stellar song)
    20. Johnny Cash – Hurt

  4. Paige

    I suck.

    1. —

    results so far:

    Cris : 21
    platosearwax : 14 (i’m assuming you’ve just mis-numbered one of your answers)
    Paige : 24

    will be posting hints, shortly

  6. platosearwax

Yeah, 15 is Kate Bush and not 14.

add 3. Jethro Tull – Thick as a Brick (second side)
    17. Kinks – Till the End of the Day
    18. King Crimson…still working on the song.

  7. Cris

Dammit Paige! Okay, the hint suggests that #18 is King Crimson.

Now I’m going to spend the evening listening to John Lennon, John Coltrane, and Jethro Tull. Curse you/thank you.

  8. Cris

    More song titles.
    3. Thick As A Brick. Rather near the end of the album.
    11. Free Man In Paris

I feel this close (||) to the Lennon and Coltrane, but I don’t think I’m going to pull them out.
