{"id":31498,"date":"2021-09-29T13:56:03","date_gmt":"2021-09-29T17:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ok-cleek.com\/blogs\/?p=31498"},"modified":"2021-09-29T15:48:08","modified_gmt":"2021-09-29T19:48:08","slug":"ringless-voicemails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ok-cleek.com\/blogs\/?p=31498","title":{"rendered":"Ringless Voicemails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This shitty Republican Senator wants to make sure people can leave robocall voicemails directly on your phone without being subject to anti-robocall rules.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.natlawreview.com\/article\/perdue-campaign-to-fcc-declare-certain-ringless-voice-mails-are-not-calls-under-tcpa\">TCPAWorld has previously<\/a> reported on judicial perspectives of ringless voicemail and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (\u201cTCPA\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Now the campaign of former Georgia Senator David Perdue has asked the Federal Communications Commission (\u201cFCC\u201d) to \u201cclarify that delivery of a voice message directly to a voicemail box through ringless voicemail (\u2018RVM\u2019) technology does not constitute a \u2018call\u2019 subject to prohibitions on the use of an automatic telephone dialing system (\u2018ATDS\u2019) or an artificial or prerecorded voice under Section 227(b)(1)(A(iii) of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (\u2018TCPA\u2019) or Section 64.1200(a)(1)(iii) of the FCC\u2019s rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>...<\/p>\n<p>More specifically, the Campaign asserts \u201cRVM technology establishes a direct server-to-server connection between the RVM vendor and the voicemail system that bypasses wireless networks.\u201d Further, the technology does not \u201cresult in the same \u2018annoyance to consumers\u2019 as traditional phone calls\u2026\u201d because \u201c[w]hen a voicemail is delivered\u2026 the phone does not ring.\u201d Finally, \u201c[w]ith RVM technology, no call appears on the recipient\u2019s phone bill and no charge is assessed for delivery of the message.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The FCC has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tlp.law\/2021\/09\/08\/fcc-seeks-comment-on-perdue-for-senates-petition-for-declaratory-ruling-on-ringless-voicemail\/\">yet to rule<\/a> on the petition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This shitty Republican Senator wants to make sure people can leave robocall voicemails directly on your phone without being subject to anti-robocall rules.
