{"id":2149,"date":"2007-12-21T09:32:40","date_gmt":"2007-12-21T13:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ok-cleek.com\/blogs\/?p=2149"},"modified":"2007-12-21T09:32:40","modified_gmt":"2007-12-21T13:32:40","slug":"balloon-juice-disemvoweller","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ok-cleek.com\/blogs\/?p=2149","title":{"rendered":"Balloon Juice Disemvoweller \/ Pie Filter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Because <a href=\"https:\/\/ok-cleek.com\/blogs\/?cat=9\">the others<\/a> are so useful, I've created a <a href=\"http:\/\/greasemonkey.mozdev.org\/\">Greasemonkey<\/a> script for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.balloon-juice.com\">Balloon Juice<\/a>, to disemvowel comments from users you don\u2019t like.<\/p>\n<p>It works the same as the others, and the same caveats apply (works based on the name the commenter uses, etc). In addition to good old <i>dsmvwllng<\/i>, it also has options for replacing their text with a nice white-on-black <span style=\"background:black;color:white;font-weight:bold\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;REDACTED&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span> banner; or it can make the text really small: <span style=\"font-size:4pt\">Look at me, I'm small!<\/span>. It also has a special  \"I Like Pie\" mode (thanks to d-p-u).<\/p>\n<p>So, <a href=\"https:\/\/ok-cleek.com\/blogs\/balloon_juice_disemvoweller.user.js\">Download<\/a> and install, if you wish (you\u2019ll need Greasemonkey, first : <A href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/firefox\/addon\/748\">FireFox<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gm4ie.com\/\">GM 4 IE<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p>(<strong>note<\/strong>: the following text is obsolete, as of 8\/2\/2011, because the latest edition of the BJ pie filter allows you to add\/remove people from your pie list via two buttons on the comment page itself - <strong>no more editing required<\/strong>! )<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll have to do some minor editing on the script itself - to add your list of targets, and optionally, to change the comment-abusing style. Again, all the stuff you need to monkey with (haha) is clearly commented.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re using FireFox, and you\u2019ve installed GreaseMonkey, and installed this script, just go to the Tools menu, choose GreaseMonkey \/ Manage User Scripts, select the script and click Edit. (not sure where the option is in IE. you'll find it). The things you need to edit are right there at the top. It\u2019s basically just a matter of changing the default \u2018baddies\u2019 names to the names of the people you want to filter. You can have as many names as you want.
