I usually have a trail camera posted down by the stream at the bottom of our hill, just to see what kind of critters live down there. I've seen coyotes, foxes, raccoons, house cats, dogs, crows, people, lots of deer, lots of squirrels.
This month, I got three pics of this squirrel making this same leap:

These are great, cleek. I love the squirrel, but I can’t work out what it’s leaping over – is it the stream? I don’t see any water, maybe it’s just nervous about what might be lurking underneath all those leaves…
yeah. he’s just jumping from log to log.
Yes, I noticed after I commented that he is jumping downhill, which seemed to let out the stream possibility. I’m famously (visually) unobservant…
