Getting back to the issue now.

You and others can point out that Trump wrongly named ICE instead of the union and hee-haw about the gaffe, say he ‘lied’ and conveniently not address the real issue.
But that doesn’t make this important endorsement go away.

Chris Crane, president of the national ICE council, says in a statement posted on Trump’s website that Trump “has outlined core policies needed to restore immigration security”
Says union employees are currently prevented from enforcing basic immigration laws, placing people living in U.S. at risk

It’s a cynical position you offer up… but not likely the reason for their support.

Especially in light of the decision of the largest police union in the country representing about 330,000 law enforcement professionals that also agrees with the ICE union decision.

                Perhaps you have another reason?

(also, Trump got the number wrong. the union has about 5,000 people, not 16,500 as he claimed. because he can’t open his mouth without lying – which, should he be elected, ICE will learn to their dismay)

cynical? who wouldn’t want the guy who promises to raise your budget?

and, yes, i’m sure there are plenty of ICE agents who buy into the apocalyptic THEY’RE GONNA KILL US ALL AND STEAL ARE JERBS F.U.D. and why wouldn’t they want more soldiers in their crusade?

and the last time the FOP endorsed a Democrat was 1996. so, them going GOP again is not exactly surprising.

Isn’t that amazing that the FOP and most all other law enforcement professional associations (and individuals) won’t support the Democrat agenda.

What do they know that you fail it understand?

i’m not sure what you think i fail to understand.

that the party which always makes a big show out of being all about Law And Order is popular with the people who are employed to provide the Law And Order isn’t exactly news.

on the other hand, stuff like this is endorsement news:

Since The Arizona Republic began publication in 1890, we have never endorsed a Democrat over a Republican for president. Never. This reflects a deep philosophical appreciation for conservative ideals and Republican principles.

                      This year is different.

The 2016 Republican candidate is not conservative and he is not qualified.

That’s why, for the first time in our history, The Arizona Republic will support a Democrat for president.

or, John Warner (GOP Senator, Nixon’s Sec of War, etc): endorses Clinton. GHWB: will vote for Clinton. countless other GOP pols have said the same.

have any prominent Democrats said they will vote for Trump? not that i know of.

face it, your boy is a disaster.

It’s true that Mr. Trump has an uphill climb and the odds of him winning this election are against him.

He is fighting the political elite machine, the status quo, with deep financial interests *and* he doesn’t have any experience in political campaigns. He’s fighting the Democrats. He’s fighting many in his own party. He’s fighting the pundits. He’s fighting most of the special interest groups. And Hillary has outspent him more than 250%

And yet, this race is a dead heat. It defies all conventional political wisdom. I find that fascinating.
So, how does one square all of this?

it just looks like party polarization guarantees that any GOP nominee will get ~40% support, no matter how terrible he is.

but, it’s not quite a dead heat. Clinton has a solid lead again.

      http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_clinton-5491.html

and look at that graph. every four weeks, he seems to get close for a day, but then he immediately steps on a different rake. he’s a terrible candidate who is being carried by the GOP party faithful.

Oh, I agree. Mr. Trump *is* a terrible candidate. He has no political experience. He stumbles on stage. He makes gaffes. And you’re probably right that Republicans reluctantly are getting behind him even though he is a terrible candidate. But you’re right for the wrong reasons.

Republicans are not excited about a Trump presidency. Instead, I think they’re terrified of a Clinton presidency.
