The Nerd Handbook

A lot of this describes me, exactly. While reading it I thought: if I showed this to my wife, she'd laugh and point at me - "That's you!" The rest of it sounded nothing at all like me, and I found myself getting annoyed that the author was wasting so much time describing himself instead of talking about me some more. The Mrs will know which parts are which.

heh. Can’t wait for my wife to read that – the bit about bolting food down and saying ‘Cool!’ when I’m not listening to a word she’s saying is so me it’s uncanny.

It doesn’t mention the insomnia that occurs from lying awake thinking about The Project though. I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to get to sleep some nights simply because I can’t switch off (years ago I would of smoked a joint before bed, but now I’m a daddy, that’s a no-no really. I could try booze I guess. *cough*)

i’m actually a slow eater – not on purpose, but everybody always finishes before i do. and the bit about flipping between TV channels isn’t me, either.

insomnia… oh yeah. sometimes you just gotta go work on whatever it is you can’t stop thinking about, no matter what time it is.
