The WaPo laments "As Aides Map Aggressive Race, McCain Often Steers Off Course":
As Election Day nears, McCain's campaign is adopting the aggressive, take-no-prisoners style of Karl Rove, the GOP operative who engineered victories for President Bush. The campaign continued the attack Wednesday with a sarcastic television ad deriding Obama as a "celebrity," part of an intensifying effort to cast him as an elitist.
But the sharp-edged approach is being orchestrated for an unpredictable candidate who often chafes at delivering the campaign's message of the day. It is that freewheeling style that has made him popular with voters and cemented his reputation for candor and straight talk.
Poor John McCain! He keeps hiring people who make him do and say the opposite of what he actually wants. His employees insist on tarnishing his sterling record of straight-talking honesty and honor. And he's so freewheeling that he doesn't care. Why should he? He's John McCain, he bleeds integrity. And, OMGOMGOMG, did he ever mention that he was a POW? No, too honorable to mention it? What a saint.
I can't wait to read the WaPo's next hard-hitting McCain story, the one in which they explain how McCain's inability to hire people who will follow his lead or keep him from deviating from his hallowed principles shows that he'll make a great President. His obvious honor and integrity will ensure that, no matter what kind of loathsome shit-slingers he hires, he'll always, deep inside (somewhere where only the press can see), know that he meant to do the right thing.
Fucking idiots.

FOX News wants to talk about sex scandals. OK, if you insist!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The man accused of shooting dead two people and wounding seven others at a church apparently selected the congregation because of its liberal social stance, the city's police chief said Monday.
Chief Sterling Owen said police found a letter in the car of Jim Adkisson, who was tackled and held by members of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church after the Sunday morning attack.
Owen said Adkisson was apparently frustrated over being out of work and had a "stated hatred of the liberal movement."
