Balloon Juice Pie Filter

Here's the world-famous Balloon Juice Pie Filter! (works as of 1/16/2011)

To use this, you’ll need Greasemonkey : for FireFox, for Internet Explorer - not sure if other browsers have GM support or not.

You can download it, here.

You’ll have to do some minor editing on the script itself, primarily to add your list of targets. Again, all the stuff you need to change is clearly commented. The things you need to edit are right there at the top. It’s basically just a matter of changing the default ‘baddies’ names to the names of the people you want. You can have as many names as you want. If you need more help, feel free to ask.

Wikipedia, STFU

Sick of looking at the Wikipedia founder's face? I can help.

Here's a GreaseMonkey script to kill those annoying banners at the top of the Wiki pages. Only works, as far as I know, with FireFox, and you'll need GreaseMonkey installed.

Here it is: WikiSTFU.

No Pie For MY

Matt Yglesias's blog finally has a usable comment system! Hooray. Unfortunately, it uses Disqus, which means I can't write a pie filter for it. Sorry!

Given that half of the regular commenters there are trolls, and half of the rest are blithering idiots, and that I now have no way to filter any of them, it might be time for me to finally give up on the comment section over there.

Pie Filter for Little Green Footballs

By request, here’s a pie filter for Little Green Footballs.

To use this, you’ll need Greasemonkey : for FireFox, for Internet Explorer - not sure if other browsers have GM support or not.

You’ll have to do some minor editing on the script itself – to add your list of targets, and optionally, to change the comment-abusing style. Again, all the stuff you need to monkey (get it?) with is clearly commented. The things you need to edit are right there at the top. It’s basically just a matter of changing the default ‘baddies’ names to the names of the people you want. You can have as many names as you want. If you need more help, feel free to ask.

To install on FireFox (not sure how to do it on other browsers, RTFM I guess): assuming you’ve installed GreaseMonkey, and installed this script (just click the download link, below), go to the Tools menu, choose GreaseMonkey / Manage User Scripts, select the script and click Edit (not sure how to do this with GM and IE). Then add your targets to the baddies array.

Download and install, if you wish.

BoingBoing Pie Filter

(note, this is probably out-of-date. BB changes their layout so frequently, i can't keep up)

I really like BoingBoing, in general. But I don't like all of their writers equally, and I really dislike some of their guests. So, I wrote a pie filter to make those authors a bit more entertaining.

Download and install, if you wish. You’ll need Greasemonkey, first (GM for Internet Explorer). And then you’ll have to do some minor editing on the script itself - to add your list of targets, and optionally, to change the comment-abusing style. Again, all the stuff you need to monkey (get it?) with is clearly commented.

If you’re using FF v2.0 (or 3.0), and you’ve installed GreaseMonkey, and installed this script, just go to the Tools menu, choose GreaseMonkey / Manage User Scripts, select the script and click Edit. The things you need to edit are right there at the top. It’s basically just a matter of changing the default ‘baddies’ names to the names of the people you want to filter-out. You can have as many names as you want.

If you need more help, feel free to ask.

Dynamic Pie!

Just FYI, I've taught the Pie Filters how to call back to ok-cleek.com to get new pie strings on the fly. Our estimates indicate that this should increase your pleasure by 15%.

Today's secret word is "BJAX". Drink your Ovaltine.

Pie Filter For Ezra Klein's Blog

Here's a pie filter for Ezra Klein's blog on Prospect.org.

Download and install, if you wish (you’ll need Greasemonkey, first (GM for Internet Explorer)). You’ll have to do some minor editing on the script itself - to add your list of targets, and optionally, to change the comment-abusing style. Again, all the stuff you need to monkey (get it?) with is clearly commented.
